I’m so excited…
Now I know, what Petra Weiss felt like… when
it happened for her.
OMG… I just checked Google again, now another video has
hit page 3… that’s some pretty cool stuff.
Is this for real… I’m ranked ahead of Michael Fortin,
CopyBlogger and even David Garfinkel for the term ‘Blog Copywriting’.
It may be a little hard to see, but I should also tell you there are 3,240,000 competing
web pages for this one specific keyword.
So here is how I did it…
I was already thinking about writing a blog post that would highlight
how gurus are using certain copywriting techniques to write more effective,
captivating and certainly more money producing blog posts.
Then, after listening to the interview between Alex Jeffreys and
Maria Andros, I thought I’d maybe try a video.
So I went to Google’s free keyword tool and typed in the term ‘blog copywriting’.
Quickly, I discovered that at least 880 people were searching for
this keyword pair… each and every month.
Then, I tried the term ‘copywriting course’ and found it had even more
searches… at about 5400 monthly.
This gave me the idea to call my YouTube video course and the title of each
video ‘Blog Copywriting Course’ parts 1 through 7.
I downloaded the free 30 day trial of Camtasia 6 and began
putting together my video #1.
After uploading it to YouTube, I was totally shocked to see that it had hit
page #4 … only a few hours later.
That was 4 days ago.
Then, at about 9:30pm this evening I decided to see if any of my videos had
traveled up Google’s index… That’s when I just about blew a gasket.
I had made it to position #1 on page #1 for the search term…
‘blog copywriting’…
http://www.blogwritingprofits.com/youtube/video1/
To see the tags I used and have a look at the description I attached, just
double click on the video and it will take you directly to the YouTube details.
I got to tell you, I’m pumped up like you wouldn’t believe.
Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement… And tell you,
that if it wasn’t for Alex Jeffreys, his coaching and especially all the
totally awesome people in his MWA 2.0 coaching program… I wouldn’t have
done the video.
Many people have commented about how much they appreciated learning about
the techniques I shared in this one specific video.
Let me know what you think.
Inside you’ll find the most subliminal ways to write killer blog posts… just
like the gurus do and use.
Yes, these secret techniques are worth their weight in gold.
http://www.blogwritingprofits.com/youtube/video1/
It’s rather hard to believe teachers used to label me as ‘English Challenged’ .
That’s ridiculous.

Well done Rob,
It’s always good when you do something like this and it works out MUCH better than expected.
I’ve been adding videos to my blog for a few weeks and it has increased the traffic pretty well.
Actually, the latest video is quite amusing. You can see it here if you like. In fact, you may even be GLAD you watched it (intrigue abounds huh?) – LOL!

Hi Rob,
That really is great news buddy. Its great to see encouraging results when you try something quite new.
This really presses home how video is SUCH an important part of the marketing mix moving forward.
Apparently YouTube is now the SECOND MOST USED SEARCH ENGINE ONLINE! (sorry for the caps, I just wanted to really press that point home
Yes thats right, apparently its searched more than Yahoo and MSN)
Imagine the power of that moving forward, plus it brings another point I talked about in the past back to light too, Google obviously own Youtube and have a vested interest in pushing video content as a medium and within their search results.
All of this really shows that there are HUGE benefits to be had by working on providing valuable content in video form and sharing across the video portal sites such as YouTube.
Great work once again, I am very happy to see those results for you and enjoyed reading this post.
I look forward to catching up with you soon, id LOVE to talk to you about maybe talking about this in a video for the VideoMarketingClassroom.com website? (it would be a great “case study” for people just starting on using Youtube and thinking about this sort of thing)
I look forward to hopefully chatting to you about that soon when we are both free.
Take care,

Josh,
You got it. Got a crazy week here, but for sure a case study is cool with me.
I never really understood the impact of keyword research, tags and descriptions. But now I do.
There is a ton of traffic on the web, I’m thinking video is the number one way to stand in front of it. I still think people make
buying decisions with text sales copy, but when you’re giving away content nothing beats video.
It really shocked me at how easy (or it at least seems like it now), I could sail past the gurus just with video.
You’ve got a great product with VideoMarketingClassroom let me know where I can help.
I’ll send a separate email to you and maybe we can exchange skype id’s and go from there.
It would be great to work on something together.

Doing videos is not high on my list…at the moment. Once I get my original business plan working the way I want I’ll be looking at doing it. Part of the reasoning is what I’m focusing on now doesn’t even really require a website, nevermind traffic, so I’m not about to waste time on something that’s counterproductive.
Seeing the results you’ve achieved though is certainly encouraging and I’m happy for your success.
